Almost one month old

Should I talk about the weather some more?

We finally had a break in temperatures today.
The bank clock said 99 degrees today, and it feels so good.
We've broken every heat/drought record there is except for the hottest temperature of all time (112 degrees, we've had several 110 degree days).
Can't think of anything funny to say today.
This is such a deviant expression. This is Summer climbing up on the bed to get Lex.

Summer is "so big"!

(She also likes to eat chocolate chips.)

The news in our life:

- Still hanging out inside most days because of the heat

- Still working on the stone on the house
- Summer is very energetic, Lexi is very sleepy

- Still trying to get a picture of Lexi that looks like her

- I plan to start communicating with the outside world again whenever Summer starts taking naps again, until then I spend my days in a continual wild west show

(Apparently we need more rodeo clowns around here.)

Right now Grandma H is visiting!

Very much fun for everyone.

(I'm beginning to be suspicious that someone, not naming names, drugged Summer.)

Summer is being an angel. Even sleeping right now, in the middle of the day.

Lexi is sleeping too. (Not a surprise)

Summer and I were playing on the floor - this is what Lexi looked like from that angle. I thought it was pretty funny.

My new favorite picture of Lexi.

Lexi startles a lot. I think it's very funny.

This is what she looks like. Finally got a good picture of her.

The end of common sense; 50 tons of stone

The little ladies
Summer loves to crawl in under the covers next to Lexi

Very sweet, but she hasn't learned to be gentle yet

We are having record-breaking heat this summer.

Last week when I was driving through town, the bank clock said 109.

We already broke the record for consecutive days over 100 degrees (22, I think).

And we're very close on the total number of days over 100 degrees. We'll either break it tomorrow or the next day or something (69 days is the record).

Heat advisories until after midnight most days.

So anyway, I went to the store to get some new shoes for Summer last week.

Her feet are "growing like weeds".

They have these $4 sandals, and I've been getting new pairs every six weeks or so.

So it was time for another new pair.
Couldn't find the sandals where they usually are.

Hmmmm.....sandals are gone.

Instead they have furry boots.

Hardly appropriate in January around here. What are people supposed to wear until then? Getting a little carried away with the non-changing seasons.

Lately I have noticed that it gets dark earlier.

This is the only evidence that fall is coming.

And the school bus, I guess, school started today around here.

Here's the pink side of the house.

And there's the blue.

They didn't have enough of that house wrap stuff at Home Depot (pink), so Scott went to Lowe's and got the blue stuff.

Stone was delivered for the outside of the house - 50 tons. That just really sounds like a lot to me. Scott laid five rows on the side of the house on Saturday.

I was trying to be funny so I asked him if that was on the garage door side. (Since there's not much wall on that side, with the garage door taking up so much space.)

He was not amused - it was hard work.

I'm running out of things to say - but I'll just post the rest of these pictures.

Has anyone noticed the annoying spot that is in all my pictures. Kind of on the right side of the picture. I think it's something on my camera.

Don't worry - we rescued her. Summer just wanted to hold her.

For some reason this scenario really fascinated me.

Many pictures that are all the same.

Now I'm awake!

Summer trying to hold her again. She slept through it all.

The next several pictures fit in the category called: "why we pay them the big bucks". Photographers, that is. Because it is not easy to get a newborn to cooperate to get one of those cute pictures that seem to be all over the place.
